"Teardrop" released by Massive Attack (1998) arranged for intermediate piano solo by Malia Jade.Â
This piano arrangement of "Teardop" composed by Elizabeth Fraser, Andrew Vowles, Robert Del Naja, Grantley Marshall, includes the iconic harpsichord riff played by Neil Davidge as well as a sample from "Sometimes I Cry" by Les McCann for the beat. This song was originally meant to be sung by Madonna, however, the ethereal vocal style of Cocteau Twins, Elizabeth Fraser, was best suited for the song. While recording the song in 1997, Fraser learned that her ex-boyfriend, Jeff Buckley, had disappeared, and later learned that he had drowned.
This cover has a classical influence and extended improvisational-style section.
