Study music theory and a wide range of related topics in music with Dr. Malia. Dr. Malia's pedagogical approach and personality focuses on techniques that foster student enjoyment. This is done with an engaging learning process that keeps students curious, goal-driven, and heart-fully acknowledged every step of the way. Dr. Malia's main teaching goal is to synthesize concepts into actual music-making. Students will see immediate weekly results in their musicianship, deepen how they experience music, feel a longterm connection to music, and enjoy the learning process along the way. 

Any topics can be covered, including; music fundamentals, diatonic and chromatic harmony, through post tonal harmony. Voice leading, harmonization, figured bass, composition, arranging, form, music analysis, music business coaching, and piano (all levels), are among the topics that can be covered.

In-person piano and theory study is possible! Location: Pasadena, Ca. 

$150 weekly

Includes: 75 minute meetings plus all integrated support. Includes all weekly correspondence and coaching (unlimited texts/notes, jumping on quick calls, all extra communication is included), correcting all written assignments (one resubmission allowed), detailed feedback, future letter of rec (if needed). Many music-learning materials will also be provided.  

In-person individual and group study in the Los Angeles area possible for an additional fee.
